6 Internet Marketing Myths
Every day thousands of people go online to make money but most of them fail miserably because they either truly believe one of the 6 Internet Marketing Myths or or all of them. You can read them below and discover the grain of salt in all of them.
Myth #1: Internet Marketing is EASY
This is probably the biggest myth of all, and let me tell you Internet marketing is hard, takes time, effort not mention money and anyone who suggests otherwise is trying to sell you a bunch of horse hockey. Granted that it’s comparatively easier to brick and mortar in that there’s no inventory to carry, no shipping of goods no sales staff and virtually no overhead, but a lot of work is still involved.
Myth #2: ANYONE Can Make Money Online
Folks, this is simply not true. Unless someone gets off their lazy boy recliner and download/read everything they can about internet marketing, and put an action plan in motion, they will never make a dime on the internet. DO NOTHING, MAKE NOTHING.
Myth #3: You Can “GET RICH QUICK” On the Net!
This is the trap that a lot of newbie internet marketers falls into including myself when I first started, why? because scammers make it sounds so easy and let me tell you, chasing “get rich quick scheme” is a WASTE OF TIME!, money and energy. It just won’t happen overnight, instead do some research and find out what people really want and need then give it to them especially a sense of reality.
Myth #4: It’s FREE to Do Business Online
This is one of my favorite myths because I believed it during my first year of internet marketing and it just wasn’t true then, it isn’t true today. Compared to opening your first coffee shop or gift shop in downtown Los Angeles, internet business start-up cost and maintenance cost is pretty low. Once you have your domain set up, you only pay for internet connection, advertising and ongoing educations, that’s it. You can’t expect to make money selling free stuff and ask others to do the same. Folks! it takes money to make money.
Myth #5: It’s TOO LATE to Start an Internet Business
Most super affiliate marketers would love to hear people say “It’s too late now, too many competitions, I should just pack my bags and go home, the internet is too complicated, etc…”. You know why? the less people they have to compete with the better which in turn will make them more money.
The fact is, it’s never ever too late to start anything and that includes internet business. I firmly believe that the internet is not going anywhere and you should too. Every year the stats will show you the number of people shoppingonline are increasing, their spending dollars are growing and the number of people going online is increasing also.
Myth #6: The BIG Money Talk is JUST HYPE
As I’ve told you before, “it takes money to make money?” Well it’s true, although you will be hard pressed to find experienced internet marketers to tell how much they spend on promoting and advertising. Sometimes, you have to dig a little deeper to find the truth in every hype you read. It’s a fact that the people that makes alot of money online also spends alot of money on advertising, tools, resources and know how to get the job done.
If you are willing to take the necessary action to make ‘big money’ happen for you – it will. It takes time. You can criticize, be skeptical and sure that ‘big money’ can’t happen for you – and it won’t. Sit down and write a financial and a sound business plan. Local Chamber of Commerce can give all the info you need to get started.
If you believe that you will succeed you’re right, if you believe that it won’t work, you’re right also.
To summarize, you have heard people’s story how they’re making a fortune on the internet and how easy it is but the reality is some stories are NOT out of this world or unrealistic but it just doesn’t happen overnight. You just have to apply a bit of common sense into it, find what you love to do, have a game plan, stay focus and you my friend might find the right opportunity to make all your dreams come true.

A Look At The Importance Of An Information Technology Degree
Computers and technology are an ever increasing, important part of today’s world. The craze to have things faster, easier and at the tip of our fingers has spurned the technological world to new heights. But before you think you can take those natural abilities with computers and turn them into a professional career, you’ll need training to be able to compete in the competitive job market. While career opportunities still abound, having the information technology degree to prove you’re capable of handling the job is important. The possibilities for employment in the technological industry are vast and our high tech world needs people with top quality know how and training. Here’s a quick look at three specializations you can get involved in for an exciting IT career.
An information technology degree in computer programming is one of the hottest programs to get involved with. Individuals and businesses are continually looking for software and programs that will make their lives better and easier, reducing the amount of work involved in their daily lives. Present software needs to stay ahead of changes and market trends, which means there’s a continual need for programmers to either create software that’s better or update and improve on what’s currently being used. Software companies are continually fighting for their place of popularity in the market and they need top notch developers and programmers. If you don’t have an information technology degree, companies won’t look twice at your resume.
Another possibility for specialization in an information technology degree is computer network technician. While programs and software keep businesses running like a well-oiled machine, without computer hardware that’s functioning at its optimal potential, companies won’t succeed. Technicians are those who make sure that networks operate and can troubleshoot problems that slow down company productivity, and they can repair most computer issues that have brought the business to a grinding halt. High quality skills that are backed up by an information technology degree are all extremely important for a computer network technician to have. Keeping million dollar networks functioning properly won’t come with basic computer repair know how and basement hardware tinkers will never get ahead in the industry without the proper training.
Safety is a big issue these days and you can step into the field of network security with your information technology degree. Wars aren’t just carried out on battlefields, and there are those who would try to bring businesses crashing to their knees through more subtle tactics such as viruses, information theft and trying to compromise network security systems. Even small viruses set into the computer world by hackers for personal amusement can ruin a company by wiping its databases clean or stealing password and login information, and the network security department is the one that will help protect against such types of violations. Large corporations and government offices need to ensure tight safety in a high tech world, so an information technology degree is the only way to go if you’re to make sure vital documents and data stays in the hands of the people it should.
As you can see, working in computers can be an extremely important job and if youve got the interest to break into this industry, acquiring an information technology degree is the only way that you’ll be able to compete in a high tech world that needs analytical skills and the best training possible. If you’re highly qualified, businesses will seek you out to help them function at their maximum potential. Definitely, the investment of getting proper education from a top quality, certified institution is well worth the time and effort, and the choice of employment opportunities your valuable skills will open up for you will be exciting, high income careers.

I’d Like $50 on the Predators!
Rick It was learned on Wednesday that former Flyers star and current Phoenix Coyotes assistant coach Rick Tocchet could be in some hot water with both the NHL and the New Jersey State Police, after authorities busted a sports gambling ring he helped finance. According to authorities, “Operation Slap Shot” (real creative title there guys, I guess “Operation Icing” and “Operation Crosscheck” were both already taken) uncovered a sports betting system that processed more than 1,000 wagers with a total of about $1.7 million on professional and collegiate sporting events during a 40-day period. Tocchet has been identified as a partner and financier of the ring (along with a New Jersey state trooper), and State Police also say that “Police Academy 5″ star and wife of Wayne Gretzky, Janet Jones, placed bets for players on the Coyotes.
No one involved has been accused of betting on hockey games, by the way. All bets were made on sports other than the NHL. So, we’re not talking about NHL players placing bets on their own games, like Pete Rose did. Still, this could be a major scandal for the NHL. Perhaps even more shocking to me was the fact that I had no idea that Rick Tocchet was still in the NHL! Did you know he was a coach on the Coyotes? And did you know that he and Wayne Gretzky, the Coyotes head coach, were BFFs? It got me to thinking… with Tocchet turning to the gambling industry following his playing career (with a little coaching mixed in), what jobs do you think some ex-Flyers may be pursuing now that their playing career is finished, and what jobs do you think some current Flyers may pursue when they hang up the skates?
(Cue the dream sequence sound effects and graphics…)
Mike Bullard – Dentist (if anyone knows about dental work, it would be ‘ol “Gappy”)
Tim Kerr – Hunchback (years of back problems)
Dominic Roussel – Motivational Speaker (centering around teamwork)
Ron Hextall – Anger Management Coach (because he always kept a cool head)
Brian Propp – Anything but a radio color analyst (damn, too late)
Peter Zezel – Teen Magazine Editor (hell, he appeared in enough of those things anyway)
Eric Lindros – Mafia Hit Man (fuhgeddaboutit)
Billy Tibbets – Unemployed (it’s hard for a rapist to find a good job nowadays)
Kjell Samuelson – Lumberjack (obviously)
Keith Primeau – Let’s just have Keith be able to run on a treadmill for 10 minutes without falling over before we give the guy a job
Chris Gratton – Not sure exactly, but I do know that he’d get a promotion then crumble under the pressure of higher expectations
Chris Therien – First things first. Let’s just get the guy to retire first and then we can figure out a job for him. RETIRE CHRIS!
Garth Snow – Sofa Maker (hey, the guy likes padding)
Donald Brashear – Professional Swimmer (just like the NHL, he’d be the only black guy out there)
Those are just a few. And hey, let’s make this interactive. Make sure to click on the forums link, reply to this column and add a couple of your own! You can use any current or former Flyer. Maybe they’ll check in sometime if they’re low on ideas or worried about what they’re going to do when they decide to retire. In the end, they’ll thank us.
In the meantime, Tocchet is expected to be arraigned within the next 7-10 days and will most likely be suspended by the NHL for his role in the gambling ring. And Rick, if you do end up having to do a little time in the pokey, tell Billy Tibbets we all said hello.

How To Cruise For Free
Its possible to cruise for free and its not as hard as you might think. Gather up a group of your friends and family and you can earn free passage and group benefits. Just reserve eight or more staterooms on one sailing and youve got a group!
Most cruise lines define a group cruise as a minimum of 16 people occupying eight cabins. The 16th person (which could be you, the tour conductor) cruises free. Tour conductors work with a travel agency to make all the travel and onboard arrangements. Cruise Lines only award the value of the cruise fare only. Port charges, taxes and government fees are not free and must be paid by everyone in the group, including the Tour conductor. All you really need is a group willing to travel together and an excuse to go such as a family reunion, birthday, anniversary, wedding, college reunion, church groups, friends or just to have fun and you are on your way to cruising for free.
Getting a free fare is one thing. Getting a free cabin is something else altogether. For that you need to book twice as many people and cabins. Sixteen people means the 16th person cruises free; 16 cabins means the 16th cabin is free.
Some cruise lines also offer special perks available only to group cruisers. Amenities can include such things as private hosted cocktail parties, cabin upgrades and shipboard credits.
Each cruise line has its own group leader policy and they may vary depending upon the cruise lines guidelines.

Of Brothers, Power and Genes
It’s ended now, hopefully, but until a while ago they were squabbling – like dogs? Children? Enemies? Or what?
What makes a brother fight brother, I wonder! What makes one brother treat another like the biggest of enemies?
If at all there is anyone in the world who can truly understand one, it is a brother or a childhood friend…and, yes, a sister in the case of a girl, with exceptions, of course! Yet, brothers fight brothers and have been doing so for centuries. Some have gone to the extent of exiling their brothers or even stopping them short with a well-directed knife in the heart, from behind!
I know, there are theories of all sorts – sibling rivalry et al. But, is that all? I mean, even when the brothers are not kids any more and therefore, are not really fighting for their parents’ love (what with many of them having already departed for their unearthly abodes and so on), they keep at it. And, sometimes, they fight over trifles. Mostly over inheritance rights, even when there is more than they can use in a lifetime or seven. Everyone saw the recent bigfight on TV, newspapers etc. The inheritance in question was a mindnumbing sum running into tens of thousands of crores. If one of them had agreed to even a mere one percent of the sum in question, he would have had enough to last many lifetimes except, of course, that the one with 99% would have all the power and the one with 1% very little – in comparison. So, I guess, it’s all about power.
Yes, power – that is the one thing all men (or shall I say, most) desire most. Power means wealth, influence, the ability to spread one’s genes far and wide, just as the crafty Chenghiz Khan did some hundred years ago (I forget the actual dates). Yes, he was powerful, wealthy, conquered and controlled large territories and most importantly, sowed his oats with wild abandon, becoming in the process, the most successful man ever – in the spread-my-genes-far-and-wide stakes.
I wonder, how many brothers today who squabble with their kin and stab them in the back and front, have the balls to do what Chenghiz did. If they can’t do so, their best bet would be to let their brothers, with a similar gene pool, continue to prosper and do well and spread their collective genes.
Boy! I have come a long way – from brotherhood to fatherhood! I think I ought to stop this rambling right here, before my brother reads this and gets a peek into my mind, claiming all my share of paternal property (or at least, 99%of it).
Is it better to take less and live happily or is it better to fight over the smallest crumbs and spend one’s life paying lawyers, picnicking in courts and filing false accusations against each other? I wonder!

How to Choose Furniture for a Restaurant or Bar
Before you begin to think about how to furnish a new bar — or refurnish your old one — you should ask yourself one very important question: What are people going to do here?
It’s not as obvious as it seems. Sure, they’re going to buy drinks, schmooze, and hopefully keep coming back to invest in your kids’ college fund one mojito at a time. But what is the unique character of your bar? Are you a sports bar with a half a dozen flat screen televisions? Are you a traditional pub serving lunch and dinner? Or, are you in an urban arts district catering to a crowd stopping in for a drink before a night at the theater? Each of these is a very different business — and each has a different way of making money. Its important to keep all of these factors in mind when thinking about how to furnish your establishment.
Lets start with your bars entrance. If you are in an urban area or a college town, you’re probably going to need some kind of door control. You’ll likely employ a bouncer or two to check drivers’ licenses at the door. A great bar table and stool set at the establishments entrance not only reminds your employees that you care about their comfort, but it serves as a preview of whats to come for potential patrons. Consider a simple bar table such as the Olympia Stainless Steel Bar Table. Combined with an appropriate bar-height stool, you offer your greeters and door managers a compact station from which to do business. The table offers a surface for managing door supplies — wristbands or hand-stamps, for instance, tickets, or a small cashbox for making change — and this particular model has a clever rack under the tabletop for hanging a bag or purse.
For seating, consider something along the lines of the Aluminum Bar Stool with Arms, appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use, or an adjustable-height stool. Door-management is an essential operational factor for many bars, and doing it wrong can cost you money — even your liquor license. It’s also how your customers will first interact with your business, so it’s worth doing right. An elegant pub table and matching stool sends the correct message.
Inside the bar, the furniture will be determined, in part, by what you are serving up with the drinks. Whether it is a hot plate of fish-n-chips, buffalo wings, potato skins or something a bit more high-class, the dcor needs to match what is featured on the menu for a truly complete experience.
Unless you’re operating a ultra-traditional bar with limited space, chances are you’ll have at least two seating areas: one at the bar itself and the in a dining area with tables and dining chairs. If you’re a sports bar — or a corner pub where neighbors congregate to watch the big game — then you’ll want to make sure your seats are comfortable enough so your guests aren’t squirming at half-time. As much as we love the elegant lines of the Wave Back Barstool, a better choice for the sports-oriented venue might be a traditional, comfortable piece such as the Oak Frame Swivel Stool with Leather Seat and Back. Or, for a truly swanky touch, the cushy Overstuffed Arm Stool with Black Metal Base and Foot Ring adds the perfect touch. Upholstered seating surfaces in durable, professional-grade fabrics, leather, or leather-look vinyl invite your guests to have another round in comfort, while swivel stools invite conversation among the armchair quarterbacks.
Bridging the gap between upholstered seating and elegant modern furnishings are design classics such as that of the Double Chrome Ring Retro Style Frame Counter Stool. Both fresh and classic, it’s a comfortable combination of the traditional and the contemporary. And although it’ i a counter stool, there’s no reason to limit these stylish, versatile pieces to bar seating. Counter-height tables, from classics like the Poplar Pub Table with Cherry Finish and Walnut Inlay, to sophisticated modern expressions such as the Chrome Frame Bar Table with Glass Top offer seating alternatives that are comfortable for guests, easy on servers, and flexible enough to accommodate dozens of different decors. Whether your aesthetic is influenced by Studio 51 or NASCAR, there’s a bar stool that is exactly right for your business.
If your establishment is more food-oriented — or if you simply prefer the look of a traditional dining-room — then you might want to consider table-height seating away from the bar, rather than bar-height or counter-height seats. Nevertheless, there’s a good deal of flexibility here as well. From traditional workhorses such as the Solid Oak Pub Table Top with Iron Base to beautiful, formal options such as the Antique Appearance Dining/Game Table, theres plenty to choose from.
Remember, it’s only in part a matter of style. Style matters, to be sure, but so does function and economy. If you’re a high-volume business selling pitchers of beer, you probably don’t want a barroom full of antiqued Queen Anne tables. You might, however, seriously consider a mix-and-match approach, mating solid, reliable table tops with an assortment of complementary bases. Separate tops and bases are easier to ship and store and provide an economical alternative for venues that need sturdy surfaces at great prices.
The secret is to shop around. From formal dining rooms to folding banquet tables, to solid oak or outdoor options in wicker and rattan, you’ll likely find great pieces designed for the rigors of commercial use that matches elegant style, for the host in you, with affordable prices, for the businessman in you.

Emergency Mens Grooming Fixes for Special Occasions
Grad Season.Wedding Season. Springtime. Wintertime. It doesnt really matter what time of the year it is—it seems like theres always a holiday or event just around the corner that youve got to look good for. Dont worry though; theres no need to panic. MenScience has broken down the stages of mens grooming from the hour before you walk out the door to what you should be doing all the time. Whether its a big date, college graduation, or a holiday party, youll look like a polished man no matter what the occasion.
Code Red (An hour before the event):
1. Shower immediately and shampoo. Gently exfoliate face with a face scrub. This will smooth and revitalize skin in under two minutes.
2. Shave: Try skipping shaving the day before a big event to make sure you get a close shave the day of. You can do several shaving passes then for a super-close result.)
3. Target an unexpected acne pimple: Apply an ice cube to a blemish for a few minutes to help reduce inflammation and size temporarily. Then, cover acne breakout with a small amount of acne treatment medicine and let absorb to reduce bacteria on the surface and get immediate results.
4. Go easy on the moisturizer to avoid a shiny, oily look.
Code Orange (The day of the event):
1. Press clean clothes, or get them pressed at the dry cleaners or laundromat a few days before.
2. Trim and clean beneath fingernails.
3. Cut unwanted hairs, such as nose and ear hair. Yeah, its gross, but it makes a huge difference.
4. Relieve puffy or tired eyes by laying a frozen eye mask wrapped in a washcloth over eyes for 5-10 minutes. Diminish dark under-eye circles by placing an eye mask in hot water, wrapping in a washcloth, then placing over closed eyes for 5 10 minutes. Follow by applying a moisturizer for the eye area.
Code Yellow (A few days to a week before the event):
1. Get a haircut. A trim is always a good idea, but if youre going for a new hairstyle, do it a couple of days before the event. A horrible cut can often be managed if you have a few days to work with it. If your eyebrows are especially bushy, ask the barber about trimming to thin them a bit.
2. Book a manicure. Many barbershops and grooming lounges now offer them for men, and its a great preparation for the hand-shaking youll be doing.
3. Exfoliate your skin. Gently removing dead cells from the skins surface can immediately brighten your tone, smooth roughness and improve your overall appearance, but for the most optimal results, begin exfoliating your skin regularly 2 -3 times a week beforehand.
4. Clear your face. Achieving clear skin takes time, but there are some acne ingredients, like Benzoyl Peroxide, which start working immediately to eliminate blemishes.
Code Blue (All the time):
1. Dont use bar soap: It can dry skin out over time, emphasizing fine lines and causing irritation and redness. Use a liquid cleanser instead.
2. Moisturize. Incorporate a lightweight, non-greasy moisturizer into your regular skincare routine, and your skin will be ready to party, anytime!
3. Prevent signs of aging by taking care of your skin now with an anti-aging treatment. Regular, early use can provide rewarding results within a few weeks and years down the road.
4. Stay in shape by exercising and following a healthy diet. Take high-quality supplements formulated specifically for men to receive valuable nutrients and promote better health overall.

Grandfather Clock Do It Yourself Repair – Part I
Grandfather clocks. Amazing pieces of machinery. Very few people understand how they work and even fewer know how to fix one, should something go wrong. Bringing to a repair shop is going to cost you an arm and a leg, so if you have a grandfather clock that’s not exactly running up to snuff and you don’t have the bucks to fix it, then you might want to try to tackle the job by yourself. In order to do that, aside from needing some mechanical expertise, you’re going to need some troubleshooting tips, since these marvels can get pretty complicated. This article is going to cover some of the things to do when trying to fix the old man.
Let’s start with the most common problem of a grandfather clock. The pendulum itself stops swinging.
The first thing you have to do is make sure the clock weights have been pulled up. Sometimes all that needs to be done is simply wind the weights. This can really save an unnecessary repair.
Next check the hands. Are they touching each other? If they are this will stop the pendulum from swinging. If they are touching and the time train is jammed all you need to do is push the hour hand slightly towards the dial in order to clear the minute hand. Just make sure it doesn’t touch the dial.
Next, check to see if the hands are touching the glass. If they are, all you have to do is bend the minute hand away from the glass.
If by some chance you’ve recently moved your grandfather clock (they are very temperamental and don’t like to be moved), the pendulum may have stopped swinging because the case is now leaning at a different angle. To fix this you simply have to start the pendulum swinging and balance your clock. Don’t use a level. Continue testing until the swinging sounds more balanced. This requires a good ear and a lot of patience. Balancing the clock itself may require you to do one of several things.
First you may have to actually place something under the clock on either the left or right side to get the pendulum swinging just right. A bracket or shim will probably do the trick for this.
Second, you may have to actually tip the clock itself towards the wall so that it is slightly leaning. You have to be very careful when performing these tricky manoeuvres. You don’t want to tip the clock too far in either direction or back. The clock may fall too far off balance and spill to the floor. Trying to catch one of these falling monsters is not easy so care is needed.
In the next article in this series we’re going to continue with troubleshooting techniques to figure out just what is wrong with the old man, including running too fast or slow, weights not falling, chimes out of sequence and others. By the time we’re done your grandfather clock should be as good as old.
